Dr. Huiras is a 1978 graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where he obtained a BA in biology. After his undergraduate studies he went on to Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, finishing in 1982. He completed a three year family practice residency and a fellowship in preventative health care at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, after which he spent time is SE Asia working with Cambodian refugees. He has been a partner with Auburn Family Medical Center since 1987. In addition to his medical practice, he has served in a number of roles at Auburn Regional Medical Center,and is currently Chief-of-Staff. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice. Dr. Huiras lives with his wife and two sons in Sumner.
